Week Three

This week I finished ripping off almost all of the old upholstery. Then consequently pulling all the extra staples. This week I pulled off the front of the chair

With this stage of my project I feel like I might have scheduled too much time. Of course a lessened stress load can be an amazing thing. I was able to complete the last two weeks of work taking up much less time than I had originally thought. Turns out when you don't have to be super careful things go much faster.

The back of the chair came off easily. I had the back of the chair off in less than five minutes the bottom not so much.

The bottom of the chair gave me a bit more trouble than I was expecting turns out that the bottom was held on with screws that had a hex head the back ones came out easily because I could get them out with a drill but the front ones I couldn’t get at because they are too deep in the wood. I am going to try and find a screw driver but did not have that finished on time if I can’t find or borrow a tool I am going to saw the screws in half. Somehow the bottom of the chair will come off.

Next week I am sanding down the arms an legs of the chair and refinishing them. I do not know what I am going to do about the wicker on the sides of my chair. I will have to research to find the best way to get them the same shade as my chair.
